Yonex Astrox 88S Pro Racket - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Name: Yonex Astrox 88S Pro Silver Badminton Racket
Rating: 4.77 (105 reviews)

Question 1

How does the Astrox 88S Pro differ from the 88D Pro?

Accepted Answer

The 88S Pro has a 5mm longer shaft compared to the 88D Pro's 10mm extension. This shorter profile optimizes swing quickness, maneuverability, and delicate touch for front-court doubles playmakers, while the 88D Pro focuses on rear-court smash power. Both guarantee complete satisfaction across India.

Question 2

Is the racket supplied strung or unstrung?

Accepted Answer

The Astrox 88S Pro 3rd Gen comes unstrung from the factory to allow competitive players to select their ideal string gauge and tension. We recommend pairing it with Yonex BG66 Ultimax or Exbolt 65 for best value for money and crisp acoustic response.

Question 3

What string tensions are safe for this model?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer recommended tension limits are 20 to 28 lbs for the 4U model and 21 to 29 lbs for the 3U model. Electronic 4-knot stringing within these ratings guarantees quality and frame longevity.

Question 4

Can singles players use the Astrox 88S Pro effectively?

Accepted Answer

Yes, players who rely on speed, deceptive net play, and rapid counter-punching will find the 88S Pro exceptionally agile and responsive for competitive singles matches.

Question 5

Which weight specification is best for doubles play?

Accepted Answer

The 4UG5 specification (around 83 grams) is universally preferred for doubles play due to its rapid maneuverability and effortless handling during high-speed net exchanges.

Question 6

Is this racket legal for official BWF tournament competition?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Astrox 88S Pro 3rd Gen is fully compliant with all Badminton World Federation dimensional and structural requirements, trusted for state, national, and international championship play.
